Listen to one couple’s journey to stop give up everything they have built in the US and go to live a life of faith among the unreached. They honestly discuss the process, excitement, and fears in pursuing their passion to make a real difference. Thanks to our BluefishTV.com friends for helping us with tell this story.
We are on the front edge of building a team in partnership with www.dna-networks.blogspot.com. It is our desire to disciple those who come to England and will return to one of 140 nations of the world. We have a passion for our a generation where there are no absolutes yet everyone is looking for one.
In the mountains of China's western Sichuan Province is a group of people more than a quarter of a million strong who have never heard the gospel story. You are invited to make a difference by using your skills in English, business, and discipleship/evangelism skills along with your adventuresome spirit. Check out who they are by watching the video. Also make sure you check out our pictures of this region and our blog.
Our partner, Evangeliska Frikyrkan, is working to develop new ways to reach post-modern Swedish young adults and see new communities of faith started in Sweden. They have already planted 25 new churches in Stockholm and we will continue to help this vision in two other cities with more on the radar screen.
What can you do? You must be able to build relationships which lead to the right to unpack your life and faith. This is a secular culture with less than 1% being Christian (Muslims out number Christians 30 to 1.) Our main work is to challenging what the culture thinks that a Christian is by hanging out and using various skills and passions to build relationships, such as pub & club ministries, small group interaction, sports, music, Alpha groups, etc. You'll need to learn Swedish and get some cross-cultural training (10 weeks) but we'll walk the walk with you.
Have you ever dreamed of being part of a country-wide effort, or pictured yourself as a pioneer, adventure driven person who wants to see every person in a nation reached with the story of God's love? We are going to see this very thing happen within the next 10 years in Nepal and you can be part of it. Our national partners are focused on planting churches among every village in the nation. You will have the opportunity to travel with them as they present the gospel, meet new people, and work to start more small groups/churches. You will also spend time researching and gathering statistics which help drive the movement and create strategies. A servant heart is a must. The leaders are committed but need help.
There are more prostitutes than Christians in Thailand. That translates into
63 million people with only .5% being true believers. Over one million people have the HIV/AIDS virus and this country is plagued by orphans, drugs, and poverty. The biggest way to impact the future is change those who will live and control it. There are more than 1.6 million students in Thailand with one million in Bangkok alone. We are presently working on two campuses and have seen a couple churches planted just from our work. Relationships are everything so by teaching English, sports, and just hanging out you'll be able to share your life and eventually your faith.
Story 1 - Progress
By: Anonymous: sensitive area
I try to talk to God about Saturday night get-togethers...always asking Him to bring those He wants. So many said they were coming and with some new ones, I expected it to be big. Mr. K was coming too and I knew they would like having him there. Only 4 showed up. I admit I was a bit disappointed but we had a good discussion about how our world was made- definitely deciding that a "higher intelligence" must have controlled it's formation. We decided that next week we would discuss man and why we are here. The following week we will look at the Bible and what God has to say.
Today, as my Russian lesson was to begin, Sarah, on who faithfully comes on Saturday, asked what I did on Sunday. When I told her she asked me why when she goes to her place, she feels nothing. I shared that I used to feel that way too but then I met Jesus and it has changed my life. She wants to come with me next time. What a privilege it is to be here and to talk with and about God and know that it is all under his control. Thanks for talking to God for me too.
Story 2 - Family of God
By: Noel: Senegal
Hey this is Noel from West Africa. I am doing well. I am writing you an update because I have some very exciting news. Please welcome Adora to the family of God. God has been moving in my classroom recently and has been laying a lot of different things on my heart.
It's so easy for us to assume that missionary kinds are Christian. But as different discussions came up in my class, I came to realize this is far from true. We can't assume any body is Christian because of their family association. But I do have some students are very strong Christians.
I realized I needed to teach my students what we believe and why we believe in it. I had half the class research Christianity and half the class research Animism (one of the religions here). The next day I had them debate. My students were challenged to explain Christianity. I got many different answers. God made me realize I need to take a week to build a unit on Salvation. Yesterday was the first lesson of the unit.
Adora came to me after the lesson and wanted to talk to me. We went outside and as she started talking, she started crying over her sin. She had true conviction. She realized she needed a Savior. And she put it all into her own 9 year old words. We prayed right then and there. She had joy all over her face for the rest of the day. Praise God for His work here!
